Like most business owners, I bet you make business goals.
…Revenue goals …Profit goals …Time off goals.
And I bet, if you’re like most online marketers, there a tiny voice inside yourself worried that your goals aren’t worth the ink it takes to write them.
No sh*!t. I’ve been there.
It’s a common worry. We all want to grow our business but when we sit down at the computer and start our daily tasks, we’re side tracked by the huge minutia of online marketing. How many times have you made a goal to accomplish XYZ the next day, and by 2:00 pm, you already know you won’t make that goal?
I’ve heard this time and time again from my coaching clients.
This year I have a gift which will help you with this problem.
7 Steps to Outsourcing Your Online Marketing (completely revised and reissued).
I’ve re-written my outsourcing book with updated information and entirely new chapters. This free e-book gives you the key–the most important key in my humble opinion–to getting on top of business tasks and onto accelerating business. And the key is:
Outsourcing.
I started outsourcing years ago and it has been absolutely fundamental to all the progress I made in my business.
I have experimented with all types of outsourcing arrangements. I have outsourced many different tasks. I have had successes and some failures, and now want to share what I’ve learned with you.
7 Steps to Outsourcing Your Online Marketing: A Beginner’s Guide to Business Acceleration is exactly what the title says. It will give you the information you need to get started growing your business the way you always hoped.
- What is outsourcing and how it can help your business accelerate its growth exponentially.
- 7 outsourcing myths and why they shouldn’t stop you from outsourcing.
- How to organize your outsourcing plan and strategies to get going easily and quickly.
- Core Genius and how to make your business meaningful again.
Now if you’re like most people, you want your business to grow, but your business goals don’t stop with money. In fact, it’s likely that in your heart, the goals that mean the most to you aren’t about money at all.
You might want…
- more time off
- more time with your family
- less worry
- to be more present with your loved ones
- to have a business that you love instead of hate
To be honest, these reasons are my main motivation for advising people to outsource.
In 7 Steps, I talk about Core Genius. Core genius are the tasks that you do so well and so easily that it hardly seems like work to you. When you focus your business on your core genius, you will love it again.
Too often, your business days are filled with the things we don’t do well–an obvious recipe for stress and dissatisfaction.
As you write your goals for the New Year, take a moment and add one more:

Thank you for the article, I actually learned something from it. Really quality content on this site. Always looking forward to new entry.
Thanks for the article, I even learned something from it. Incredibly quality content on this website. Always looking forward to new post.
In your book you only gave a few places to get outsourcing. Do you show more in the next book?
Graphics – like logo design and maybe a ways to make my site look better – that’s what I am looking for. Which is better for that, Elance or Odesk?
Cora,
Yes, I do give many more resources in my next ebook, “High Profit, Low Stress Business Acceleration”
I also keep a Marketing Resources and Tools page on my site which has some recommendations for graphics, especially if you have relatively small projects.
Here is one from my next book, specifically for graphics design: 99 Designs
It is pretty cool because you get input for your ‘project’ from a lot of different designers. Plan to spend a little more time setting up the project competition and managing it though.
As far as Elance or Odesk being better for graphics design – I don’t have a strong opinion; you can find good freelance designers on both most likely.

Thanks for the free info. I use a VA for part of last year and was considering trying to hire someone again.
I’m a good writer, and I like writing. I think it is all the “other stuff” I need help with. What did you start outsourcing first?
Marie,
Good to hear you are going to try again with a VA. If writing is your strength, it’s a good idea to look toward the ‘other stuff’ to delegate.
I have outsourced a lot of work, from bookkeeping and phone support to writing and traffic generation.
You might be best served by focusing on promotional work for your writing – tasks like bookmarking, backlinking, directory submissions, things like that. You do the writing and someone else expands your online footprint.
Let me know how it goes.

Great eBook! I got a lot of ideas to use right now. You talked about another book.
Are you writing another book with more details on how to hire someone to help me in my business?
Yes, I have just released my latest ebook “High Profit, Low Stress Business Acceleration”.

Thanks for your comments.

Have you personally had success with Elance or Odesk? Do you think they are worth the money?
Also, where do you hire writers? I hire people thinking I’ll save time, but I have to keep rewriting it; it would be faster if I just did it myself.
James,
Yes, I have had some success with Elance and I do think that both Elance and Odesk can be worth the money. As with any suppliers, make sure you do your due diligence.
I talk more about that in my ebook, “High Profit, Low Stress, Business Acceleration”, and stress the need to start out slow especially if you are not used to hiring freelancers to do work for you.
For writers, I have had very good luck working with people that I met in online marketing communities, so I already knew them personally and had a chance to see their work for a while.
Try your own downline (if you are a network marketer) or other home based business owners you know if you are uncomfortable starting with Elance or Odesk.
Outsourcing offers so much potential for leverage and accelerating your business that it just makes sense to try to incorporate it into your marketing plan. It might take a little longer than doing it yourself right now, but in the long run, there is no comparison.
Best of luck.
Michael
A lot of good information for a Free’ ebook. Thanks! I’m looking forward to reading more about outsourcing marketing.
Glad you liked the information – hope it helps you get started with leveraging your time through outsourcing.
Thanks for the comment.
Michael
I really have had other people do all kinds of work for me that was as good, and even better, than I could do it myself. Compare the work your VAs do to the goal, not to how well you can do it; it’s a lot easier to ‘delegate completely’ if it’s not personal.
Daniel,
I agree completely – I try to let my VAs work … and I’m not surprised when they do some jobs better than I could!
Michael
Mike,
Thanks for the information. It’s overwhelming to try to do all the work myself – I just can’t do it!
I got your ebook – going through it tonight.
Judith,
It certainly can be overwhelming. I’m glad you are reading my ebook, “7 Steps to Outsourcing Your Online Marketing” – I talk about different ways to collaborate and/or start outsourcing.
Good Luck!

I’ve had VA’s before – they didn’t work out. Without sounding too much like a complainer, I can’t believe that this time is going to be any better.
Have you really had other people do online marketing for you and gotten good quality?!
I know what you mean, Alex. I had the same issues when I was first starting out using Virtual Assistants – some didn’t work out.
But, each time was better than the last time; for me, the success I had outsourcing my work was due to my own progress … I just got better at it. Hope it’s that way for you too.
