The Power of Outsourcing

by Michael Wilson on April 6, 2010

One of the most powerful tips for people just starting in their internet business is also one that beginners rarely practice–outsourcing.

Often, when people start their internet business, they do it on a shoestring.  Let’s be honest–we have all seen dozens of e-books and free reports that proclaim that you can start your business for less than $50 and use only free resources to build it.  These books are capitalizing on beginner’s budget concerns.  They promise a mythical business with few expenses and big profits.

Do you believe them??

Businesses cost money and while an internet business has a relatively low start-up cost compared to a brick and mortar store, there are still some expenses you must count on.

And the one of the expenses that I most recommend is that you invest in outsourcing.

Beginners are Afraid to Outsource

There’s an odd mentality to the beginning internet marketer.

While he most probably doesn’t know the many skills needed for a successful internet business, he is reluctant to hire someone who does.

He believes that he must do it all, learn it all and master it all to be successful.

Very noble–but very, very slow.

While you are in the middle of the learning curve for copywriting, HTML coding, direct response marketing, email marketing, etc., the savvy outsourcing marketer can learn one skill and apply it to everything.  Learn how to outsource and find good people and then let them do the heavy lifting in your business.

You will save lots of time, struggle and money.

And to help you get over the hurdle, I’ve got a free gift for you:
7 Steps to Outsourcing Your Internet Marketing

It’s an ebook that will give you some perspective on Outsourcing … even before you think you are ready to get started.

My Outsourcing Success Story

As an experiment, one month ago I began outsourcing a lot of the detail work for my website and blog.

I have hired help with copywriting, webpage construction, and social media marketing.  I have been in full control of all my content, but I didn’t have to do all the manual labor.  Basically, I acted as a true business owner–I let others implement my vision.

As proof of the speed of outsourcing, in the month that I have had help with my business, the visitors to my website have increased by 150%.

Did you catch that number?

My traffic is now 2 1/2 times higher than one month ago!

Now obviously I could have done the work myself and achieved similar results, but how long would that have taken?

Building my business is more important than executing every task myself.

Remarkably, outsourcing is a lot more affordable than people think.  There is a huge selections of services available for outsourcing virtually every task.

And the savings of time and frustration is well worth the small amount of money.

I know that outsourcing can be intimidating to beginners who worry about being taken advantage of, which is why I have taken a special interest in correlating good outsourcing resources.
